A number of disgruntled former guests of the Dominican resort have conveyed their thoughts on the TUI promoted resort on TripAdvisor, including one holidaymaker who posted:

“Food at buffet restaurant is very limited. Had as good or better at 4 star resorts in Cuba.
[The] quality of food is about the same as Cuba but have had much better in Cuba as well.

“[My] friend got very ill [on the] second day of [our] trip which [is] the first time [that] we have had that happen [to us] anywhere [that] we have been to.

“[We] would not return here [due] to the sickness we experienced and the poor beach due to location of this hotel.

“[Its] very expensive for what you get. [I] have had better for much less elsewhere”.

On top of this, other recent guests of the Catalonia Royal Bavaro have also commented on how their recent visits have been overshadowed by sickness. In a post titled “Lovely hotel but I became very sick with diarrhoea”, one poster claimed:

“Within 3-4 days of arrival, I became very ill with diarrhoea and am just recovering now, a week after our return (and getting antibiotics from my doctor).

“It’s either the water or the food prep. But I could not recommend the hotel to anyone, as a result. “I probably will not return to Punta Cana, either”.
