British holidaymakers struck by sickness at ClubHotel Riu Funana
- Numerous guests of the Cape Verdean resort claim to have suffered from sickness and diarrhoea

It has come to the attention of the YourHolidayClaims team that recent visitors of the five-star ClubHotel Riu Funana have had their stays ruined by illness.
This comes after holidaymakers have taken to the website TripAdvisor to portray their views on the resort, including one disgruntled July 2017 guest who revealed:
âFlies – I think this was the worst in the holiday. Flies were everywhere, around the food, on the food, in your coffee whether we sat outside or inside. I think the hotel needs to address this.
â[I dont know] whether this was the reason or not, but I got ill and ended up in hospital straight as we got back from Cape Verde.
âI am still not well and had to have further blood testsâ.
Furthermore, unnervingly it appears additional holidaymakers have also recently hit by illness, as another recent visitor of the Thomson promoted resort posted:
âThe hotel is rated, by Thomson (TUI), as a five star hotel! It most certainly isn’t!
âWhilst we were there we all suffered from sickness & diarrhoea, which resulted in an expensive visit to the doctors (â¬60 each) whilst there we were greeted by lots of other guests suffering the same thing.
âIn all we spoke to, literally, dozens of fellow sufferers!
âThe island is great, the people are friendly, [but] the hotel was not!â
