At Your Holiday Claims enquiries are being received from holidaymakers who have fallen ill at the Stil Victoria Playa Hotel in Menorca.
Nine people out of a party of thirteen are seeking help to claim compensation after their holidays were ruined by illness.
Numerous other holidaymakers have also reported suffering holiday illness at the hotel on the review website TripAdvisor.
One guests husband and two young children received medical attention just 24 hours after their arrival at the Stil Victoria Playa Hotel in Sant Tomas. They were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital and placed on intravenous drip after suffering a gastric infection.
The lady stated: âAfter 24 hours here on Saturday 14th June my husband was taken by ambulance with a gastro infection requiring him to be in hospital for fluids and a drip. My 2 children, 2 years of age and 10 months old were also taken by ambulance requiring hospitalisation for the same illness.
âThat same night people in our group and I also fell ill, requiring doctor prescribed medicine (all chargeable including the doctor visit).
âEverywhere you turn everyone is or knows someone who is unwell with the same illness.
âKids are actually projectile vomiting at the pool and in the soft play area and parks! Nothing is done about this I might add.
âThe reps say they have deep cleaned the crèche and kids areas however the bug is spreading so fast that you could not possibly keep up with the cleanliness.
âI have physically watched the cleaners come in and mop up sick from my floor and then use the same mop and water to clean the floor in the next room, no surprise then why all 4 rooms next to me are all struck with the same illness.
âThe hotel appears generally clean however whats lurking around is clearly visible when you see so many people suffering.â
Anne Thomson, Head of travel law at Your Holiday Claims, comments on the latest outbreak: âA group that has recently returned from their stay at this hotel have had their holiday ruined due to the illness. Nine people out of a group of 13 were affected and they have warned that many others have also been ill.
âDrastic action needs to be taken to stop the outbreak of illness from spreading and I sincerely hope the tour operators carry out a full investigation into the cause and together with the assistance of the hotel management and staff at the Stil Victoria Playa Hotel, Menorca, resolve matters immediately.â
