Holidaymakers diagnosed with E.coli at ClubHotel Riu Bachata

Holiday makers travelling to ClubHotel Riu Bachata in Dominican Republic have reported on TripAdvisor that they were diagnosed with E.coli.

One guest claims that all but four out of a party of 27 had suffered sickness and diarrhoea during their time at the hotel.

“Within 24 hours of being at the hotel, some of us started to be sick. By the end of the week, only four people didnt get sick. We also suffered severe cramping and diarrhoea. After consulting with the doctor, he advised we continue taking Imodium tablets”.

Having consulted with their doctor on return home, it was apparently confirmed they had contracted “E.coli”.

ClubHotel Riu Bachata is listed as an all-inclusive four star plus Premier destination by First Choice.

Another holidaymaker said “we were all sick with E.coli and the staff didnt seem to care that everyone was sick”. “There was mould in the rooms and in the fridge, and drinking glasses used at the bar were not washed properly”.

“ClubHotel Riu Bachata is certainly not a five star hotel and I strongly wouldnt recommend it” she concluded.
