British holidaymakers have complained of continued outbreaks of illness at the Sensatori Resort in Mexico.

Holidaymakers have claimed to have fallen victim to a Cyclospora outbreak at the five-star complex.

Cyclospora is an infection which is spread through ingesting contaminated food or water causing symptoms of diarrhoea, nausea and stomach cramps.

One recent visitor reported on the outbreak through TripAdvisor, commenting:

“There is currently an outbreak of Cyclospora Cayetanensis in the Cancun and Riviera Maya area and my whole family got it for the second week of our holiday.

“It was rife throughout the hotel and many people insisted on moving hotel and on the day we left at least six couples were being transferred.

“There was one day when the whole hotel was without water for 6-8 hours too”.
