More than 9 months on from the first reports of sickness outbreaks at the Perdikia Hill in Turkey, holidaymakers are continuing to raise complaints against their tour operators.
Throughout the summer months of 2014, we were contacted by numerous holidaymakers whose holidays were ruined by symptoms of sickness and diarrhoea at the Thomas Cook promoted hotel.
Some guests had required hospital treatment during their stays after they were affected by gastroenteritis â an infection of the intestines.
Yet many holidaymakers have hit a number of problems when attempting to deal directly with their tour operator. Reports in local UK newspapers have suggested that some holidaymakers have been offered just 5% towards their next holiday as compensation.
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âOffers from tour operators such as a voucher towards another holiday can leave those affected by illness heavily undercompensated.
âWe are often contacted by holidaymakers who have been left frustrated by their attempts to deal directly with the tour operator. However, there is help available.
âThe Package Travel Regulations 1992 protect the rights of holidaymakers allowing them to bring a claim against their tour operator here in the UK.
âIf you have been affected by illness at the Perdikia Hill in Turkey, we would always recommend seeking expert legal advice. Here at Your Holiday Claims, we can provide you with free initial advice on whether you may be able to make a claim for compensation.â
