A British holidaymaker is seeking compensation after contracting a severe campylobacter infection at the Kervansaray Hotel, Marmaris in October 2015. The holidaymaker reports to have suffered from agonising diarrhoea and vomiting as well as experiencing distressing hallucinations as a result of the illness.
Reports of illness outbreaks at the Kervansaray Hotel are rife online.
Review site TripAdvisor is awash with comments from holidaymakers claiming to have fallen ill at the 3-star resort.
One guest claimed that their entire family suffered from “sickness and diarrhoea” after eating at the hotel restaurant.
“Don’t go there with the food,” they warned.
“Food being cooked in dirty outside kitchen that looked like they hadn’t cleaned all season … food was uncovered and flies [were] landing over them and hot food was cold!”
In a recent review, one guest claimed that a number of guests “caught fungal infections in our mouths and got cold sores” as a result of “dirty” glassware.
Several guests also alleged that the drinks provided were heavily “watered down.”
