There have been reports online of British holidaymakers falling ill on holiday at the Domina Coral Bay Oasis in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
Visitors to the all-inclusive hotel have suffered from gastric illness, believed to be the result of poor food and hygiene standards. Many have commented on the hotel review website TripAdvisor, stating that food was often served lukewarm or cold.
One hotel guest from London commented: âThe food was very poor. Worst aspect of the hotel. Despite what the blurb says, theres not much rotation of dishes. Also, the hot food was usually tepid. We were both ill whilst we were there and still have a stomach bug (four days and counting).â
They added that the condition of the hotel rooms and restaurants were below standard, stating: âThe curtains, fixtures, and fittings were grimy and a bit tired. The chairs in the canteen were filthy. Â We had no hot water all week, despite informing reception.â
Another holidaymaker from London who had fallen ill at the hotel has commented on the poor hygiene standards they witnessed. They said: âI have been to the Domina Coral Bay for two weeks and my experience there was horrible. I will never go there again.
âI am a regular traveller to Sharm el Sheikh and I have been going there for the last 12 years. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There is a lack of hygiene with the food, I had a blood stain on my bed, and I fell ill. When I complained to the hotel management they didnt want to take responsibility; so my holiday was a nightmare.â
There have been various reports involving holidaymakers who have fallen ill from suspected gastric illness at the Domina Coral Bay Oasis. Food poisoning can often be the cause of such illness and it causes holidaymakers to suffer symptoms including sickness, diarrhoea, and stomach cramps.
A visitor to the hotel from London also told of how they fell ill on holiday at the hotel. They commented: âDuring check in we were given the option to go and visit the restaurant and eat our first meal at the resort. The food was buffet style and there was plenty to choose from.
âHowever, most of it was bland and tasteless. Also, during the course of the week my stomach stopped agreeing with the food and I experienced mild diarrhoea, which I believed was due to the tuna.â
