Multiple reports which have emerged online suggest that the TUI promoted ClubHotel Riu Tequila has recently been host to a gastric illness outbreak.
Frustrated former visitors of the Mexican resort have left reviews on the website TripAdvisor, which expose the recent illness problems which the ClubHotel Riu Tequila has faced.
One holidaymaker who visited the five star hotel earlier this month with their partner revealed:
âJust returned from a 2 week stay which was spoilt somewhat by the lack of insistence by the hotel staff that diners [should] use sanitizer before entering the hotels restaurants.
âGuests were seen picking food up with their hands then putting it back. As a result of this type of behaviour 6 out of the 14 days of our stay were ruined due to sickness.
âAt least 1 person that we were aware of was hospitalised and numerous others were also taken ill daily.
âUntil after complaints to both TUI and the hotel itself, a member of staff was positioned on the entrance to the buffet restaurant only ensuring everyone sanitized before entering.
â[However] sanitizers were available at the other (restaurants) but use of was not mandatoryâ.
On top of this, additional holidaymakers have also commented on the recent issues which have unfolded at the ClubHotel Riu Tequila. In a post titled âGreat hotel (but)â, one frustrated former guest of the Riviera Maya resort commented:
âThe only problem me and the wife had was we both became very sick the second week we were there.
âIt ruined the whole week as we had a few trips planned and we were unable to do any of them so it was a really bad end to what could have been a fabulous holidayâ.
