Holidaymakers left frightened following MS Boudicca ordeal

In March 2014, Your Holiday Claims were pleased to secure a settlement for 26 British holidaymakers following an outbreak of norovirus on board.

The cruise ship is in the news again after suffering an engine room fire at 4am on Sunday 25th January.  This caused disruption to its 18-night ‘Cape Verde & the Canaries cruise’.

Fred Olsen cruises commented.

“Once Boudicca has reached Tenerife on the evening of Tuesday 27th January 2015, she will stay for two days, while the cruise line will look to repair two main engines and electrical cables. Guests will then be notified of a revised itinerary for their cruise”.

It was confirmed that thankfully “there were no injuries to any of Boudicca’s 784 guests and 356 crew members”.

It was a reportedly a very frightening experience when the vessel was plunged into darkness.

One guest took to Twitter to reassure wellbeing “It was very scary but all OK and the ship has lights, flushing loos etc. – such a fright”.
