Online reports reveal recent stomach sickness issues at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana
- âViolentâ food poisoning ruins Christmas and New Year visits to the Dominican hotel
- Other holidaymakers claim to have contracted Campylobacter during their stay
- Our experts reported on gastric illness outbreaks at this resort in Summer last year
It has come to the attention of the YourHolidayClaims team that many recent visits to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, have unfortunately been reported to have been ruined by sickness.
Numerous former guests of the five star resort have posted on TripAdvisor, to warn others of the illness they endured during their holidays.
One of these former visitors who stayed at the First Choice promoted resort with their family to celebrate Christmas revealed:
âMy son got violent food poisoning [on] Christmas eve. [We] spoke with the dr. in the middle of the night and was told if we wanted medicine, he would need to be evaluated [for] $255 and I could bring my son down to his office.
âNot only did my son get sick, but [out of] 4 other families that were there from our town, someone in every single group got sick.
âWe also met a family from NYâ¦someone in their group got so sick, they had to go home.
âMy thoughts are that they are too busy and can’t [safely] handle food, rarely do you see employees wearing gloves.
âAs a matter of fact, at the outside grill, we saw an employee throw a hamburger on the grill, without gloves, and use the same hand to put lettuce on another [burger]!
On top of this another recent guest of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino also commented on how their holiday was ruined by Campylobacter, as they revealed:
âOn January 2nd, 7 of the 10 of us came down with typical Campylobacter symptoms of stomach pains, vomiting and diarrhoea.
âWe traced our common food back to a Carpaccio appetizer at the Isla restaurant on New Years Eve. [This was the] likely culprit and being in the food business I know how careful this kind of food prep must be.
âI asked the food and beverage manager to call me. No call. I asked guest relations to please have this investigated and let us know what they find. I just want to make sure its taken care of. After 24 hours I havent heard anything.
âWhen an organization like the Hard Rock does not take food borne illness seriously it is something to worry about. I wouldnt stay here if the food is not safeâ.
Our legal specialists thoughts
