“We felt we were treated as Guinea pigs testing out the various aspects of this resort”: Former guests critical of brand new Riu Reggae

  • Hygiene standards of the 5-star resort have been slammed online by frustrated holidaymakers
  • Guests claim theyve been served food that was frequently cold and even raw
  • Experts here at Your Holiday Claims are fearful that the conditions at RIU Reggae wont improve anytime soon

The Jamaican complex, which is marketed by U.K tour operator Thomson, has been slammed online in multiple reviews left by guests following their stays.

Reports left on hotel reviewing website TripAdvisor reveal that there are numerous issues with the newly opened Riu Reggae hotel, and frustrated holidaymakers have not been afraid to express their emotions.

“Cold” and “undercooked” are just two words that have been used to describe the food on offer, with one guest even claiming that the chicken, pork, and fish they were served was all “raw”.

Furthermore, another irate holidaymaker advises fellow travellers to bring their “own sanitizer and get your food from the back or underneath”, after witnessing alarming issues regarding the resorts hygiene standards.

In addition to this, one former guest stated:

“Like the other [guests] we felt we were treated as Guinea pigs testing out the various aspects of this resort and reporting back the deficiencies we found”.

“From poor cable T.V to refrigerators that were not working or plumbing that wasnt connected resulting in flooded floors, to construction around the pool and washrooms that were closed…suffice to say they opened too soon”.

Comments from our experienced solicitor

“It is incredibly unnerving to read that holidaymakers have raised hygiene concerns at the Riu Reggae, so soon after its opening.

“It is well known that if food, especially meat, is served cold or undercooked then serious illness can consequently occur. Holidaymakers may well find themselves at risk of campylobacter or salmonella food poisoning”.

“I would urge anyone who has experienced illness symptoms such as sickness and diarrhoea on their package holiday to come forward and contact YourHolidayClaims for legal advice.

“Our friendly and highly knowledgeable claims experts can advise you on the merits of your case and answer any questions you may have regarding the no win no fee claim process”.
