Sickness at Catalonia Punta del Rey

Recently returned holidaymakers have taken to hotel review site TripAdvisor to express their concerns regarding food hygiene standards at the four-star Catalonia Punta del Rey.

“I was sick on many occasions after eating the food,” comments one guest adding that meat was served raw on more than one occasion. Alarmingly, they also state that cockroaches were seen “in the dining room by the food on many occasions.”

Another recent guest bluntly labels the food “awful:”

“The restaurant food was cold and had a film across the food (which you get when it sits there).

“Only ate here twice during our 14 night stay, so most of our spending money actually went on food.”

Other guests have commented that the hotel is aware of the “always cold” food situation and were simply advised to heat food up in the microwave provided.
