Guests at the Island Blue warn – “beautiful property but spoilt by sickness and diarrhoea.”

We have recently been reading of a “sickness bug” at the Island Blue, Pefkos, Rhodes.

The Island Blue is a 4 star Thomson Platinum hotel. The hotel is close by to the beach and centre and features two swimming pools a restaurant and two pool bars.

Holidaymakers have complained of a “sickness bug” at the Island Blue. Comments have been made such as “not worth the extra money” and “beware of illness.”

Visitors to the hotel have said that they have suffered symptoms including “sickness and diarrhoea.”

One holidaymaker has said that “there was also no prevention of this bug nor were there any signs up alerting other guests.”

Another family commented on their time at the Island Blue stating “3 of our party of 4 went down with sickness 4 days into a week long holiday and we are still suffering a bit now.”

A wedding party of 16 also visited the hotel and nine of them fell ill with the “bug”. Some of the children attending the wedding also became ill and needed to visit the onsite doctor.  One child needed “hydration treatment at the hospital.”

Other guests have said that the hotels manager was aware of the outbreak and “blamed it on an airborne virus.”

They stated “this unfortunate episode did spoil the holiday so have been put off returning as on the last occasion we also suffered sickness.”
