Holidaymakers have recently commented on TripAdvisor to complain about their stay at the Sonesta Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
Thomas Cook promotes the Sonesta Beach Resort as an all-inclusive, four star resort with a large selection of cuisines, varying from two main buffet restaurants, an Indian restaurant, Italian and Lebanese á la carte, and Oriental café.
According to recent reports by holidaymakers, it seems illness was also on offer at the resort. One guest commented: âAfter eating on Sunday evening in the á la carte restaurant, Casablanca, I woke up in the early morning with terrible stomach cramps and was unable to move.
âThe day after, I suffered bad diarrhoea and noticed bites on my body. I think the room and bathroom hadnt been cleaned properly.â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented on the reports: âIt is distressing to learn of holidaymakers suffering illness on holiday â a time when most people look forward to a relaxing break.
âI hope that both the hotel management and Thomas Cook will ensure that high standards of food hygiene are implemented and maintained in order to help prevent further outbreaks of illness.
âI would advise guests who have suffered illness during their stay at Sonesta Beach Resort to seek medical attention from their GP on their return home.â
