Reports are emerging of outbreaks of illness at the Zoraida Resort in Roquetas del Mar, Spain.
Holidaymakers have contracted gastroenteritis and many visitors have commented on the review website TripAdvisor.
The Zoraida Resort consist of both the Zoraida Gardens and Zoraida Park hotels, with guests able to use the facilities of both complexes.
After suffering âgastroenteritisâ at the resort, one holidaymaker stated that they believed food hygiene standards had contributed to their illness.
Thee hotel guest from Reading stated: â7 out of 11 of our party and many other guests were sick. I have never been so sick and had to call the doctor.
âWe didnt leave the complex so it is conclusive that it is something in the hotel which is causing the illness. I suspect it is the food which is buffet style and left on serving trays. Not once did I see a chef check the temperature of any food left standing.â
âThe maid who cleaned our room after the sickness bug used the same mop and cleaning cloths in other rooms spreading the germs. With so many other hotels along the coast, I wouldnt take the risk on this one and choose another with basic hygiene.â
Others have stated that they believed the illness may have been the result of an unclean pool.
The holidaymaker from Crewe commented: âWe also had a dreadful experience at this hotel. We all suffered from this illness from the third day we arrived to the journey home and then some, so you can see, the holiday was completely ruined.â
âMy daughter was that poorly with this illness, which we believe was from the pool, she ended up in hospital on a drip.â
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced holiday claims solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âIt is always worrying to read reports of outbreaks of gastroenteritis. In this case, it would appear  a number of hotel guests have been affected by  sickness at the Zoraida Resort in Spain.â
âIf food is served undercooked , lukewarm or if it is left out in Bain marries for long periods of time, bacteria can breed and contaminate food resulting in holidaymakers contracting gastroenteritis with symptoms including sickness, stomach cramps, and diarrhoea.â
âI would urge anyone who has fallen ill with gastroenteritis on holiday at the Zoraida Resort to contact Your Holiday Claims as soon as possible for advice on how to make a claim for compensation.”
