The outbreak in 2009 at the Holiday Village in Sarigerme resulted in almost 600 holidaymakers bringing claims against First Choice after many fell ill during their stay. Holidaymakers suffered severe gastric illnesses caused by cryptosporidium, salmonella, and shigella infections.
