Frustrated former guests of the TUI promoted resort have left reviews on the website TripAdvisor, on how their hard earned breaks were plagued by illness. In one review which is titled “Dated, dirty and overpriced”, one holidaymaker revealed:

“The room was dirty, there was blood on the bathtub, and used q-tips on the counter. The mattress was hard and terrible, [it] reminded me of an old futon from a dorm room.

“The seafood buffet was terrible, I am amazed that I didn’t get sick immediately.

“The Italian restaurant and Coast were decent. I got food poisoning from the resort the evening before I checked out, the staff didn’t seem to care.

“The only bright side is that they have a nurse on staff, which cost me 4500bt (£103)”.

Furthermore, unnervingly additional holidaymakers have also commented on how their visits to the Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket was marred by illness. One December 2017 visitor of the resort posted:

“[I had] a very poor experience for a 5 star hotel.

“We had many problems and do not recommend this hotel. There was a virus of gastroenteritis in the hotel and nobody advised us on this issue, they do not inform you.

“We discovered there was a problem because we started to feel [unwell]. [There was] very poor communication and [it was] not worth it at all. [Im] very disappointed”.
