Numerous negative reviews have emerged after British holidaymakers fell ill with sickness and diarrhoea at the HD Beach Resort, Lanzarote.
More and more guests at the resort have been affected by food poisoning as reports of undercooked chicken and uncovered food spread around the hotel.
One guest who visited the hotel commented on TripAdvisor: “I have only just got round to writing this review as my husband and I have been suffering from a terrible bout of food poisoning from this hotel.
“My husband had another during the holiday which wasn’t as bad, but still, extremely worrying especially as we were staying with a 10 month old and a 4 year old.
“We then got ill again the day we returned home, again it was absolutely the restaurant. This time we really have been very, very ill, lasting a good few days. Not easy with two young children to look after.”
Another visitor to the resort has pointed out that “the buffet never had hot food”, adding, “This is just an invitation for salmonella”.
