We have been contacted by a holidaymaker who became severely ill with symptoms of diarrhoea and sickness while staying at the Destina Hotel in Ovacik, Turkey in August.
The lady who contacted us said that many other people were also suffering from similar symptoms of gastric illness and many of them were making complaints to the tour operators representative.
The holiday was booked through Thomas Cook who, according to the holidaymaker who contacted us, sent letters to holidaymakers at the hotel stating that several cases of Legionnaires´ Disease had previously been confirmed among guests.
Anne Thomson said: âWe were shocked to hear of so many people falling ill at this resort. Sickness and diarrhoea can be contracted from food poisoning or poor standards of hygiene at the hotel and Legionnaires´ Disease can cause serious illness or even death.â
