Your Holiday Claims have been contacted by a British holidaymaker seeking compensation after their stay at Iberostar Costa Dorada in the Dominican Republic was ruined by illness.
Poor hygiene and maintenance at the five star Thomson resort has reportedly left multiple holidaymakers suffering diarrhoea and sickness for a large part of their stay.
One unfortunate guest told our claims team that they believe parasite “cryptosporidium” was the cause of illness and were also aware of numerous others experiencing similar symptoms.
Several unhappy holidaymakers have since taken to TripAdvisor to air their complaints, including a recent guest who likened the hotel to “a building site” and vowed “I will not be returning!”
Another guest commented: “The food in the buffet was horrible! The only place to eat good food was in the speciality restaurants … This hotel was a disgrace and a disappointment.
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented: “I am very concerned by the recent reports received by holidaymakers of illness at Iberostar Costa Dorada.
“The Puerto Plata area of the Dominican Republic is hugely popular with British tourists and it is worrying to hear that multiple guests may have fallen ill.
“Our specialist team at Your Holiday Claims have several years’ experience in successfully recovering compensation for holidaymakers and I would strongly encourage anyone affected to get in touch for expert legal help.
