At Your Holiday Claims we have recently received an enquiry from a British holidaymaker whose family required hospital treatment after falling ill at the Jaz Mirabel Park in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
The family of four all fell ill during their stay at the hotel, with one family member treated with intravenous fluids.
We have previously reported on outbreaks of illness at the Jaz Mirabel Park in September 2014 after holidaymakers complained of contracting ear infections and experiencing symptoms including sickness and diarrhoea.
The Jaz Mirabel Park is an all-inclusive five star hotel, promoted by tour operators including First Choice and Thomson.
Visitors to the hotel have reported experiencing stomach problems at the hotel. One holidaymaker commented on TripAdvisor: âI did experience the Egyptian belly. I spent one day of my holiday in bed.â
âI have been four times to Egypt and this is the first time I have been ill.â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âWe are concerned to again be reading reports of illness at the Jaz Mirabel Park.â
âRequiring hospital treatment whilst on holiday due to illness can be an incredibly distressing experience and many holidaymakers feel that their holiday has been ruined.â
âIt is vital that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are implemented and maintained in all hotels, to prevent such outbreaks of illness.â
âI would urge anyone who has fallen ill on holiday at this hotel to contact myself or a member of our holiday claims team for expert advice on all aspects of the claims process.â
