Unhappy holidaymakers slam Laguna Park Hotel
- Holidaymaker claims she and her daughter contracted cryptosporidium during their stay
- Same guest also caught up in electrical fire ordeal
- Additional visitors reveal that they too have fallen ill at the resort
Recent visitors to the hotel in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria have commented on TripAdvisor after they were served raw chicken and suffered symptoms including sickness and diarrhoea.
One British holidaymaker, whose stay was affected by an electrical fire, commented:
âI will never come back to this hotel. During our stay there was an electrical fire 2 floors up from ours.
âNo fire alarms, poor evacuation procedures and management told us you didnt need to get out as smoke goes up not down.
âThen to top it off, coming home myself and my daughter came down with cryptosporidium. We can only think that it came from the hotel pool as both of us went in and my husband didntâ.
Another recent visitor stated:
âI got food poisoning from the food I ate during dinner. I felt terrible, gladly though there were plenty of pharmacies in the local areaâ.
Furthermore others have reported witnessing âhorrific standards of hygiene and food practicesâ including âraw food being placed with cooked foodâ.
Our expert view
âWe are concerned to read reports of cryptosporidium and food poisoning at the Laguna Park Hotel.
âCryptosporidium is a parasite which can cause gastroenteritis and lead to holidaymakers suffering severe sickness and diarrhoea. Ingesting contaminated drinking or swimming pool water is one of the most common causes of cryptosporidium.
âI would encourage anyone whose hard-earned holiday has been ruined by illness to get in touch with myself or a member of our expert holiday claims team for advice on whether they may be able to make a successful claim for compensationâ.
