The team at Your Holiday Claims has recently heard from a guest who is seeking compensation after falling ill at the Bodrum Holiday Resort and Spa in Turkey.

The holidaymaker said that four out of 17 people in their party were struck down with illness and that three of the children they travelled with were diagnosed with salmonella poisoning.

Other guests at the resort have since taken to TripAdvisor to review their stays and some have complained of illness.

A visitor said that they were “very disappointed” with their stay and added: “The food and drink served at the pool bar was terrible!

“Flies crawling over the food, the food was never warm and the burgers were made from turkey and chicken mixed together as informed to me by one of the bar staff.

“To be served food and drink of this quality is unacceptable! Also the food served in the main restaurant was disgusting, after two days of eating the food I was up all night vomiting, not exactly what you want to be feeling like on holiday.”

Another guest commented that their stay was their “worst holiday ever” and added: “I am a nurse and can recognise when there is a problem. Diarrhoea and sickness is an ongoing issue here and has been highlighted so many times.

“My husband and daughter had diarrhoea and sickness. My younger daughter was admitted to hospital with an infection in her intestines. We witnessed children vomiting around the pool and one vomiting into her hands on leaving the dining hall.

“We met other holidaymakers who all had the same.”

“Salmonella bacteria can be contracted by eating or drinking contaminated food or water. I hope that the hotel management will look into this incident in order to help prevent any more guests being struck down with illness.”
