Here at Your Holiday Claims we have heard from a guest who is taking legal action after suffering illness at the Holiday Village Turkey.

Just last year we reported that British holidaymakers were set to receive a total of £1.7m in compensation after almost 600 guests were struck down with illness at the resort.

Many of the guests at the four star hotel in Sarigerme required medical assistance during their stay, with many requiring further treatment after returning home.

We have previously heard from guests who suffered illness at the resort as a result of infections including salmonella, cryptosporidium, campylobacter and E. coli which were often contracted due to undercooked food and poor hygiene standards.

Holidaymakers have also reported that food at the hotel was left uncovered and often reheated before being served to guests.

A visitor claimed he contracted cryptosporidium during his stay, he said: “It was awful, a real holiday from hell. I was crippled in the foetal position for the last couple of days of my holiday. I couldnt eat drink or sleep and it felt like someone was stabbing me in the stomach.”

More recently guests have taken to TripAdvisor to review the hotel and have stated that the food is “always cold”. While another guest described the resort as “horrendous”.

Tracy Stansfield, and experienced travel law solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, said: “It is worrying that we have received an enquiry from a guest who has suffered illness at this resort after we reported on such a large outbreak just last year.

“I do hope that this is an isolated case and that the hotel has put measures in place to ensure that we do not see the same number of guests becoming ill as we have in previous years.”
