Here at Your Holiday Claims we have recently received an enquiry from a holidaymaker who has fallen ill on holiday in Egypt.
The holidaymaker had travelled to the Royal Oasis Resort in Sharm el Sheikh when they were affected by the illness.
In recent weeks, a number of hotel guests have commented on TripAdvisor after they were exposed to poor standards of food and hygiene.
One recent visitor stated that âfood was coldâ and âeverything was tired and dirtyâ. They added that they were served âuncooked chicken which was pink insideâ. Others have described the Royal Oasis Resort as âfilthy and disgustingâ.
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented on the enquiry: âWe have recently been contacted by a holidaymaker whose holiday was ruined by illness at the Reef Oasis Resort in Egypt.
âIt is worrying to read further reports of poor food hygiene standards at the hotel. When food is served undercooked or lukewarm there is a serious risk of holidaymakers being affected by food poisoning caused by bacteria including salmonella, E. coli and campylobacter.
âI hope the tour operators and hotel management will investigate any reports of illness at the Royal Oasis Resort in order to protect the health of all hotel guests.
âI would also encourage anyone who has been affected by illness at this hotel to contact myself or a member of our holiday claims team for expert advice on whether you may be entitled to make a claim.â
