At Your Holiday Claims we have received an enquiry from a holidaymaker who fell ill at the Sierra Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
Holidaymakers have commented on the review website TripAdvisor after witnessing poor standards of hygiene within the hotels restaurants.
One hotel guest reported contracting an âear infectionâ during their stay. They added: âThere was little in the way of food hygiene standards and no temperature control checks on foods.â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented on the reports of illness: âWe are currently receiving enquiries from holidaymakers suffered illness during their stay at the Sierra Sharm el Sheikh.â
âWe are concerned to read reports online of undercooked and lukewarm food being served at the hotel. This places holidaymakers at risk of contracting gastric illnesses with symptoms including sickness, diarrhoea, and stomach cramps.â
âI hope the tour operators and hotel management will investigate any reports of illness in order to ensure the health of holidaymakers is not affected.â
âI would encourage anyone who has suffered a holiday illness at the Sierra Sharm el Sheikh to contact myself or a member of the holiday claims team for advice on all aspects of the claims process.â
