Here at Your Holiday Claims we have received an enquiry from a British holidaymaker whose family was affected by sickness at the Sol Mirlos Tordos in Majorca.
We have previously reported on the hotel in September 2014 after we were contacted by holidaymakers who experienced similar symptoms including vomiting and diarrhoea.
Recently, visitors to the hotel have commented on TripAdvisor stating that outbreaks of illness had led them to make a âformal complaint to Thomas Cookâ.
One holidaymaker reported noticing a âbug going round the hotel the week we wentâ. They believed that âthe staff knew but couldnt get on top of itâ. They added, âEveryone you spoke to in the hotel had a member of their family poorlyâ.
A repeat visitor to the hotel commented: âMy wife, daughter and grandson (13 weeks old) have all become ill with sickness and diarrhoea. They werent the only ones with these symptoms.â
âPeople were telling the staff that some of the food wasnt cooked properly and just being ignored by the restaurant staff. I am sure I wont be the only one complaining about the food.â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âWe have previously received enquiries from British holidaymakers who were affected by illness at this hotel in the summer of 2014.
âIt is concerning to read further reports of illness at the Sol Mirlos Tordos. Where food and hygiene standards are poor, there is a real risk of holidaymakers contracting a serious illness.
âI would urge anyone who has fallen ill on holiday at the Sol Mirlos Tordos to contact Your Holiday Claims for advice on all aspects of the claims process.â
