A couples holiday to Egypt in March was ruined after the bride contracted salmonella during their stay at the Jaz Mirabel Beach in Egypt.
Other holidaymakers have since taken to TripAdvisor to review their time at the resort, with another guest also claiming that they had experienced symptoms of salmonella.
They said: âThis should be a lovely hotel, but it was dirty and in great need of a makeover. We all had salmonella from our stay here. First and last trip to Egyptâ.
Another guest found issues with the hygiene at the Thomson promoted resort, they said: âI stuck to the floor as I walked, there were no glasses to have a drink and looking at the food I would rather have starvedâ.
And a guest from Basingstoke said: âFood was very poor. Very little choice and the same every day, stale bread and rolls, yesterdays leftovers on the menu the following day but in a new sauce.â
âDirty plates and cutlery, poor service unless you dipped your hands in your pocket to tipâ
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced travel law solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âSalmonella has very nasty symptoms including vomiting and diarrhoea. Suffering from these can quickly ruin a holiday and lead to guests having to spend time recovering in their room.â
âWe have previously successfully settled claims against this hotel and recently helped a Rochdale family of three struck by salmonella receive £15,850 in total compensation.
“At Your Holiday Claims, our dedicated holiday helpline remains open, offering expert advice on whether you too may be able to make a successful claim for compensation.â
