Holidaymakers take to TripAdvisor to warn others off staying at the Sunscape Dominican Beach Punta Cana
- Stomach illness has apparently been rife at the Dominican hotel
- Online reviews reveal that âmanyâ have blamed the food at the resort for these outbreaks
- We reported on similar illness issues at a neighbouring hotel only last month
Its become transparent to the travel law team here at YourHolidayClaims that multiple former guests of the Sunscape Dominican Beach Punta Cana hotel, have unfortunately had their holidays halted by illness.
This comes following the discovery of numerous reports on website TripAdvisor, where multiple frustrated visitors of the First Choice promoted resort have warned others how their getaways were overshadowed by sickness.
One of these unhappy holidaymakers, who visited the Sunscape Dominican Beach Punta Cana with their family, revealed:
âI normally do not write reviews but I feel I need to warn people about this place.
âI became so violently ill with food poisoning, I was not able to leave the hotel room. It was very scary and it continues as I type this review.
âI left a day early (once I was able to stand up) and after a visit to the urgent careâ¦[I was] diagnosed with E-Coli and put on heavy antibiotics.
âOthers in my party came down with it too! The food was terrible.
âI will NEVER go to Punta Cana again!!!! Its risking your life if you do!â
Additionally, other former guests of the Dominican hotel have also revealed how gastric illness plagued their holidays. In a post simply titled âfood issuesâ, one poster commented:
âThere is no way this place is a four star resort, no way.
âThe Ala Carte restaurants were very good. The buffets, not so much.
âOur last meal was the breakfast buffet at the Grill. It was crowded, lots of people, but the hot food was at room temperature.
âWe finished our meal then left for the airport and the ride home. I started experiencing stomach cramps on the flight back and was terribly ill with diarrhoea, fever and chills by the time I arrived home.
âIt turned out to be Salmonella poisoning and I’m still dealing with itâ.
Our expert opinion
âBy going off the reports that we have witnessed, it would seem that yet another resort in the Bavaro region of the Dominican Republic has recently battled against gastric illness issues. This time in the form of the Sunscape Dominican Beach Punta Cana hotel.
âOnly last month did our legal team report on a similar outbreak at the Sunscape Bavaro Beach Punta Cana resort, a complex which is located a mere 550 metres away from this hotel.
âIt is important for anyone who has fallen ill in this region whilst on holiday to remember that they could be eligible to secure justice for their ruined break.
âIf your package holiday has been spoiled by an illness within the last three years that wasnt your fault, then contact our team today to discover whether or not you are eligible to make a holiday illness claimâ.
