Dreams Holiday turned into a nightmare at Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort and Spa in Mexico

Reports of food poisoning have emerged yet again, from Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort and Spa in Mexico.

Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort and Spa is promoted by Virgin Holidays as an all-inclusive resort, in a beautiful beach setting. âThe Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort & Spa provides everything you need for a memorable Mexican holiday, and then some!â boasts the brochure.

This is perhaps not what one holiday maker had anticipated. Her husband was hospitalised, having suffered food poisoning at the resort. âMy husband suffered food poisoning from the buffet, he deteriorated as the days went by, to the point that he spent the last two days of our holiday in hospital!â she said on TripAdviser.

âI later found out that it wasnt the first time food poisoning had occurred at this resortâ she added.

In January 2014, Your Holiday Claims received enquiries from holidaymakers who had also suffered food poisoning at Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort and Spa and they had reluctantly paid $140.00 (MXN/USD) for medication.

Standards of hygiene were criticised by another holidaymaker âHousekeeping seem to have forgotten their purposeâ they said. âFingerprints were noticed all around the hotel grounds, bed sheets were rarely changed and sun loungers needed at least two towels to cover the filthâ.

Experienced solicitor Tracy Stansfield commented on reports âIts disheartening to read of apparently on-going issues at this resort. Being hospitalised at any time is a traumatic experience but this is even more so if it occurs on in a foreign country whilst on holiday.â

âI trust that both the hotel management and Virgin Holidays will conduct a full investigation into the claims made and ensure that any issues are dealt with straight away.â
