Food hygiene levels at the Memeories Varadero Beach Resort are slammed by furious former visitors of the hotel

Whilst exploring into potential sickness outbreaks at numerous all-inclusive resorts, the YHC team have found a number of online reports that indicate holidaymakers to have recently stayed at the Memories Varadero Beach resort have unfortunately succumbed to illness.
Former ill-stricken visitors of the Cuban resort have portrayed their disappointment by posting reviews on the website TripAdvisor, such as one January 2018 guest who revealed:
âThis was our second time to Cuba, [and the] first time at this resort. We travelled in a group of 23 for our wedding
âOur room had black mould, which caused my husband to spend the entire trip sick with a horrible cold.
âWe all took turns [in] getting sick from the food, I constantly saw them (the staff) cross-contaminate the meats, with fruits, with eggs, and so on. Even for Cuba, this food is awful.
âI usually don’t complain, this is the first review Ive ever written, but I wanted to make sure to warn others before booking this resort.
âWe will never return to this resort, and will advise anyone else we talk to against it as wellâ.

âWhile [its] not terribly tasting, it’s what’s inside that counts. All meat is raw. If you have it cooked on the grill, which was usually available with long lines, have it cooked VERY well done, not just well done.
âWhile we didn’t have much of a fly problem while we were there, we did have other bug problems – maggots. Yes, there were live maggots in several dishes at several different times.
â5 of the 7 of us in our group were ill in varying degrees on different days throughout the trip and most of our days and meals were spent at the resort.
âWith seeing their food handling procedures I have no doubt [that] salmonella or E.coli poisoning [affected] us and many [other] guests. It was disturbingâ.
