Here at Your Holiday Claims we have recently been contacted by a holidaymaker who fell ill whilst at  the Dar Khayam Hotel in Tunisia.
Reports from numerous disappointed guests on the review website TripAdvisor, describe their holidays as a âdisasterâ and the âworst holiday everâ.
In the summer of 2014 we reported on outbreaks of illness at the Dar Khayam Hotel. During that time we were contacted by a number of guests who had been affected by gastric illness at the hotel.
More recent reports describe guests suffering from âfood poisoningâ at the Thomas Cook promoted hotel.
One guest commented: âArrived last Sunday and wanted to go home by Monday morning.â
âThe food was absolutely disgusting, same food every day. I found cockroaches in the restaurant and the alcohol was watered down.â
Others reported questionable food hygiene standards at the Dar Khayam Hotel. One holidaymaker stated, âFood is dropped on floors and picked back up and put back out for us to eatâ.
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced holiday claims solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, said of the reports: âIt is concerning to once again read reports of illness at the Dar Khayam Hotel. Some of the reports do appear to mirror complaints we have previously become aware of. â
âFood poisoning can lead to nasty symptoms including vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhoea and can quickly ruin a holiday.â
âI would urge anyone affected by illness at the Dar Khayam Hotel to contact the team at Your Holiday Claims. You may be entitled to compensation for the illness you have suffered, any loss of enjoyment of your holiday and any out of pocket expenses you may have incurred as a result of the illness.â
