A British holidaymaker staying at the Dreams Vacation Resort in Sharm El Sheikh has reported that her 3 year old child was struck down with cryptosporidium whilst holidaying at the four star resort.
The Thomas Cook promotes the hotel âwith a lovely setting on the cliff-top at Um el Sid, itʼs no surprise the views across the sea to Tiran Island are a real talking pointâ.
However the main talking point at the hotel in recent weeks has been âbad foodâ and outbreaks of illness which have wreaked havoc for unfortunate holidaymakers.
The Manchester mum, whose child fell ill at the resort, commented on TripAdvisor: âMy 3 year old had to see the doctor two days before we were due to leave with stomach cramps.â
âWe were given two syrups to try which did ease his pain and we have seen our doctor and had to provide a faeces sample.â
âThe results are back he has cryptosporidiumâ a highly unpleasant gastric illness contracted by faeces contaminated water or produce, and remains âin a bad wayâ from the ordeal.
Another recent guest reported âthe food was horrendousâ and was appalled to witness âhuman faeces at the entrance to the dining room one eveningâ during their stay.
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced travel law solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âThese current reports from Dream Vacation Resort are extremely worrying.â
âI urge the tour operator to take immediate action to investigate the causes of the illness and to address the appalling reports of apparent failings in hygiene standards.â
âThe team here at Your Holiday Claims are available to speak with any holidaymakers affected by this on 0300 100 2851 and would encourage they seek expert legal advice.â
