Here at Your Holiday Claims we have received an enquiry after a guest was struck down with illness on board the Explorer of the Seas cruise ship.
The guest has spoken to our team to discuss making a claim for compensation for their ruined holiday.
Just last year we reported on an outbreak on-board the ship which saw over 700 passengers affected by norovirus during a 10-day Caribbean cruise.
A guest from London was holidaying with her husband when she was struck down with the bug. She said: âMy husband had to put me in a wheelchair to take me to the infirmary.â
âThe door opened on the lift and there were just hundreds of people being sick everywhere, they were throwing up in buckets and bags. I started crying, I couldnt believe it. I was in shock.â
âThe seas were so rough, they shut the doors for two days. We had no air. There was no air, no circulation and thats why, I think, we got ill.â
Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, Anne Thomson, said: âIt is worrying to hear from a guest who has suffered illness on this ship, especially since we know of a previous outbreak which affected hundreds of its guests.
âIllness on-board cruise ships has the potential to spread very quickly. Â I would urge anyone who has fallen ill on the Explorer of the Seas to give us a call to discuss making a no win no fee claim.â
