Holidaymakers have taken to TripAdvisor to express their dismay after they were affected by illness at the Caribe Club Princess Beach Resort & Spa in the Dominican Republic.

Thomson feature the all-inclusive hotel for its “great location” and five á la carte restaurants. They say “by day you can chill out in the large lagoon pool then come mealtimes, you can make the most of the spectacular sea views”.

Yet many recent visitors to the Caribe Club Princess Beach Resort & Spa found their holidays ruined by poor food and hygiene standards at the resort. One guest said “the country is amazing, this hotel is not!”

“My husband became very ill after eating in one of the á la carte restaurants and struggled to eat for four days afterwards” claimed one guest. “Not the honeymoon we had hoped for”.

“Food was terrible” stated another recent visitor. “Even when staff were tipped, you continued to be ignored”.
