Holidaymakers not surprised guests are falling ill during their stay
It has been made evident that a number of holidaymakers have been left distressed by their experiences whilst staying at the Hotel Melia Cayo Santa Maria.
According to recent reports on TripAdvisor, food poisoning is a major issue within the hotel.
One guest claimed that on the second to last day of their trip they became âseriously illâ, while another stated that âone of our party got sick on the last dayâ and that the buffet that on offer was very poor.
In another recent report, one holidaymaker warned fellow holidaymakers to avoid the hotel and revealed there were âmajor food sanitary issuesâ present, such as different meats being cooked together and âmeat and fish not being packed with iceâ.
The frustrated guest also claimed that the buffet included baskets of mould filled bread, the food would be recycled and reused and that their boyfriend âgot food poisoning and had to visit the clinic twiceâ.
Alarmingly, on further inspection it seems as though these problems are unfortunately long term rather than short term, as one poster from 2013 says âOur two youngest were both ill and (we) could only put it down to the foodâ.
Tracy Stansfield, a travel law expert here at Your Holiday Claims, had her say on the recent reports coming from the Hotel Melia Cayo Santa Maria.
âYet again it seems as if poor hotel standards are at fault for another unfortunate illness outbreakâ.
She added, âOur thoughts are with anyone who has had their holiday at this resort ruined through illness. Here at Your Holiday Claims, our dedicated holiday claims team is on hand to offer quick advice on whether you are eligible to make a strong claim for holiday illness compensation“.
