A British tourist has been hospitalised after she reported suffering severe stomach illness whilst staying at the Savoy Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
The Savoy hotel is operated by tour operator Thomas Cook, amongst others.
She said on TripAdvisor: âI became very ill with a stomach bug. I was hospitalised as my blood pressure was high and I became dehydrated. I was told I had a bacterial infection.
âMy partner also had an upset stomach during the second half of the holiday and for about another 3 days after returning from holiday.”
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Farnworth Rose said: âI am concerned to hear of another illness outbreak at a hotel in Sharm El Sheikh. Not everyone is aware they can claim compensation in the UK for sickness suffered abroad if their holiday was booked as part of a package holiday.
âI would encourage anyone who has been affected by illness on holiday to contact myself, or the expert solicitors at Your Holiday Claims on 0330 100 2851.
“We are available to provide specialist advice on the process of making a no win, no fee claim for compensation.”
