British holidaymakers have advised tourists to âavoidâ the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
This comes after the holidaymakers had experienced poor food standards and a lack of cleanliness within rooms. Others reported suffering illness during their stay which they believed to be a result of poorly prepared food.
British holidaymakers have also commented on the standards at the hotel through the hotel review website TripAdvisor.
One said: âMy birthday was celebrated by dinner on the beach. My husband and I mentioned that our main course was cold.
âFor four days I could not leave the room. I was so poorly. My husband called the doctor who put me on IV antibiotics and rehydration fluids. My advice, if you become unwell, call the doctor immediately. Unfortunately my holiday was ruined.â
When food is consumed which is lukewarm or improperly prepared, this can lead to suffering serious illness. Holidaymakers can be at risk of contracting infections such as salmonella, campylobacter, and E. coli where food (especially poultry and other meats) has not been thoroughly cooked.
Another British holidaymaker from Stowmarket described the food on offer at the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort as âdisgustingâ, âcoldâ, and âundercookedâ.
They added: âAll in all the room wasnt too bad but definitely not a 5 star room as it was let down by the bathroom.
âThe bath was stained with random brown marks around it and there was black sludge around the stainless steel components of the shower and plughole.â
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced holiday claims solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, said: âThere have been numerous references to lukewarm or undercooked food in the reports we have read online.
âBy exposing holidaymakers to lukewarm and undercooked food, there is a serious risk of widespread illness arising. Suffering food poisoning on holiday can ruin a holiday. If you have suffered illness during your stay at the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls Resort, you may be entitled to claim  compensation from your tour operator.â
