The sprawling Grand Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort which encompasses both the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum and the Grand Bahia Principe Coba, has come under fire in recent months from guests reporting to have suffered from illness during their stays.
Hotel guests have taken to review site TripAdvisor to voice their concerns regarding hygiene standards at the complex.
One recent hotel visitor stated:
“We both got sick from the food, my wife twice, and we spent much of our time in the room due to this”.
The stricken claims that his “physician” wife believed their illness symptoms were “indicative of faecal contamination like E. coli, salmonella etc.”
Other recent guests have reported:
“[There was] blatant cross contamination with raw chicken” and that “birds [were] eating off tables”.
