An outbreak of salmonella has once again affected British holidaymakers during their stay at the Club Magic Life in Sharm el Shehikh, Egypt despite the increase in excellent reviews on TripAdvisor.

Similar complaints of illness were also reported at the Club Magic Life hotel in May and October 2013 and in late August and October 2012.

Tracy Stansfield, a solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, said: “Outbreaks of illness at this hotel have recurred in the past 18 months and it is becoming a growing concern for the team and I that there are still continuing outbreaks of illness, which can only suggest that the standards of food and hygiene in the hotel have still not been resolved.

“The owners of the hotel, management, and staff all have a duty of care to provide and maintain the highest standards of food and hygiene, and health and safety in the hotel. The tour operators who promote the hotel are also responsible to do the same.

“Due to the number of holiday illness claims we are aware of and that we as a firm are personally handling, the tour operators who sell and promote package holidays to the Club Magic Life hotel do have knowledge of the conditions in this hotel.

“I hope the tour operators take matters seriously and carry out a full investigation into the recent cause of illness as soon as possible.
