“There was vomit on the floor outside the dining room”: Holidaymakers describe events inside the IBEROSTAR Bouganville Playa
A number of holidaymakers have taken to the online reviewing TripAdvisor to convey the havoc that the ‘Bouganville bug’ is causing.
One holidaymaker reported that “sickness and diarrhoea is prevalent throughout this hotel”, while another claimed there is an “outbreak of a bug causing severe diarrhoea and vomiting which affected many of the guests”.
It was a similar theme throughout a number of the posts, as one previous guest admitted that he would not be staying at the IBEROSTAR Bouganville Playa again, after both he and his wife on separate days “suffered attacks of diarrhoea and vomiting”.
Another holidaymaker reported, “Myself, my husband and a large number of friends also staying at the IBEROSTAR Bouganville Playa have been struck with the sickness and diarrhoea bug.” Others stressed that the bug was having serious affects after “one elderly guest was really ill outside the dining area”.
Many of the reports claimed that guests had to endure the bug for approximately 24 hours, however on further inspection one holidaymaker revealed, “We spent a full four days in our room, vomiting and feeling very ill”. They continued to say “we knew that many other people were ill, simply from hearing people be sick around us”.
