Sickness strikes for third successive year at ClubHotel RIU Oliva Beach Resort

Hotel review site TripAdvisor is awash with reports of illness at the 814 room resort.

âOn the 2nd day we were both struck down with severe vomiting,â states a recent guest.

âWe thought it was just one of those things until we heard other guests next door throwing up through the night and on speaking to other guests who told us their whole family had been struck down with it

The West Yorkshire holidaymaker adds that they âsuspect it was contracted through food or drinkâ as âon entering the restaurants we use the hand gel dispenser and always take our own antiseptic hand wipes after handling serving spoons, tongs etc.â

Another recent guest believes it âis no wonder there is a stomach bug going roundâ after witnessing âzero rotation on the foodâ.

âThe chefs cook fresh food then dump it on the older cooled food â¦ I believe they should clear the older cooler food or at least keep the fresh food separated,â he explains.
