“I HIGHLY recommend that you choose an alternative resort”: Angered holidaymakers condemn the Be Live Collection Marien

  • Multiple former guests of the resort complain of illness problems
  • One recent visitor labels their illness as “food poisoning”
  • Others also raise concerns over the Dominican resorts poor food hygiene practices

Following investigations into recent illness outbreaks at holiday resorts, the YHC team have discovered reports of illness and poor hygiene at the Dominican Be Live Collection Marien hotel.

Distressed holidaymakers have taken to the website TripAdvisor, to convey their emotions following their disappointing visits.

One of these holidaymakers who recently travelled to the resort with their partner claimed she had fallen ill after eating at the hotel snack bar, before adding:

“I ended up with a bacterial infection serious enough to require overnight hospitalization complete with IV hydration and drugs. And, unfortunately, this occurred on our actual anniversary.

“Food is not well stocked to the point that when new trays come out they are practically swarmed…This leads me to believe that there may have been pressure on the staff to get food out and that maybe preparation steps in terms of sanitation were missed or the food was undercooked.

“Regardless, I saw other people from the resort at the same hospital and five days later I am not fully recovered”.

In addition to this, another former guest warned fellow visitors to “make sure you check the food”, after he alarmingly claimed to have found a caterpillar in his meal.

“Its unnerving to learn of the ongoing situation at the Be Live Collection Marien, and our thoughts go out to all those affected.

“Food hygiene standards at any hotel should be done to the highest possible order, so to learn that holidaymakers are claiming to have been struck with food poisoning is totally intolerable.

“As always, I urge anyone who has been affected by illness on their package holiday within the last three years to come forward and speak to us at YourHolidayClaims so we can discuss the merits of you making a claim”.
