Following investigations into recent illness outbreaks at holiday resorts, the YHC team have discovered reports of illness and poor hygiene at the Dominican Be Live Collection Marien hotel.
Distressed holidaymakers have taken to the website TripAdvisor, to convey their emotions following their disappointing visits.
One of these holidaymakers who recently travelled to the resort with their partner claimed she had fallen ill after eating at the hotel snack bar, before adding:
“I ended up with a bacterial infection serious enough to require overnight hospitalization complete with IV hydration and drugs. And, unfortunately, this occurred on our actual anniversary.
“Food is not well stocked to the point that when new trays come out they are practically swarmed…This leads me to believe that there may have been pressure on the staff to get food out and that maybe preparation steps in terms of sanitation were missed or the food was undercooked.
“Regardless, I saw other people from the resort at the same hospital and five days later I am not fully recovered”.
In addition to this, another former guest warned fellow visitors to “make sure you check the food”, after he alarmingly claimed to have found a caterpillar in his meal.
