At Your Holiday Claims we are currently receiving enquiries from British holidaymakers who have fallen ill during their stay at the Baron Palace Resort in Hurghada, Egypt.
Guests at the hotel have required medical attention on their return home after experiencing sickness, stomach cramps, and diarrhoea.
Holidaymakers have also reported contracting suspected food poisoning, with some receiving medical treatment before flying home.
One holidaymaker from London commented on TripAdvisor: âTo top it all off I got food poisoning from the hotel on the last day.
âI had to be put on an intravenous drip so I would be able to catch my flight home and was given a £200 bill for the pleasure.
âAnd even better, when I wrote to the hotel about this, I didnt even get a reply apologising.â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented on the reports: âThe reports of holidaymakers requiring medical treatment during their holidays at the Baron Palace Resort are worrying.
âFood poisoning often results in gastroenteritis, an intestinal infection causing symptoms such as sickness, diarrhoea, and stomach cramps.
âNot only can such an illness ruin a holiday, but it may also result in holidaymakers incurring costly out of pocket medical expenses.
âI would encourage anyone who has suffered such a holiday illness to contact myself or a member of our holiday claims team. If the illnesses were caused as a result of breakdowns in food handling/hygiene practices at the hotel you have the right to claim compensation for the illness you have suffered, any days of the holiday missed and any out of pocket expenses incurred as a result of the illness.
âI hope that the tour operators and hotel management will investigate the reports of illness at the Baron Palace Resort to help protect the health of all hotel guests.â
