By exploring the reviews which have been left by some of these holidaymakers on TripAdvisor, it is clear that many recent visitors of the 4-star hotel are not impressed with the standards they encountered during their stay.
Whilst expressing their dismay over their June 2017 visit, one holidaymaker revealed:
“The food is terrible. When you walk into the buffet [you] are greeted by a horrid smell in a smoky room with flies everywhere and on everything. The buffet room is dirty, you had to go through the plates to choose a clean one.
“The food they cook is left to simmer, a lot of which is cold and doesn’t even look like it could be eaten, due to mostly everyone in our party falling ill I was left to eat nothing but chips in the end to protect myself from vomiting or having diarrhoea again and losing days on my holiday being ill.
“As a final note on the food I would like to put into comparison that 37 of us went to the hotel and 34 of us fell ill during and on the return home from our trip to Grand Memories.
Furthermore, another disappointed poster claimed:
“The buffet food was usually cold… We also saw cooked meat being handled with the same tongs being used for raw chicken at the BBQ.
We told the chef and he apologised and promptly plonked the cooked meat on my husband’s plate, needless to say, it wasn’t eaten. The BBQ area was also swarming with flies”.
