Reports are emerging of an outbreak of sickness at the three star Marathon Hotel in Rhodes, Greece.
The Greek hotel, promoted by Olympic Holidays, has been subject to several reports of a sickness bug in recent weeks and many guests have taken to TripAdvisor to air their complaints.
A recent British holidaymaker posted: âWe were greeted off the bus on arrival with a disgusting smell of raw sewage, which hung around a fair bit during our stay.
â3 out of 7 days we spent in bed poorly with sickness and diarrhoea. We were not informed by the hotel when we arrived that there was a bug/problem.
âWe were told by other visitors on our last day that the hotel staff were handing out medication to those who were well enough to venture to reception.â
Another guest complained of âabsolutely horribleâ food served in the hotel restaurant and warned potential visitors âyou see it oftenâ¦breakfast reappears at lunch and dinnerâ¦tired old salads and meatloaf made out of leftovers.â
It is thought that âat least 40â holidaymakers have been struck with illness whilst at the resort, ruining countless family holidays.
Tracy Stansfield, an experienced travel law solicitor at Your Holiday Claims, said of the reports: âI am very concerned to hear of such widespread outbreaks of illness taking place at Marathon Hotel in Rhodes.
