Anthem of the Seas hits headlines once again following illness outbreak and storm warning
Luxury Royal Caribbean cruise liner, Anthem of the Seas, has made headlines once again as an outbreak of illness left 132 passengers ill during its February 2016 voyage of the South Caribbean.
The ill-fated voyage was reported by the MailOnline, who claim the cruise ship was âturned around because of a norovirus outbreak and possible severe stormâ heading toward the luxury liner.
The latest report arrives just weeks after the cruise liner was turned around early due to 30 foot waves and hurricane force winds left panicked passengers âclinging to their bedsâ in their cabins.
Up to 150 passengers and crew of the cruise liner, which commenced its voyage on 21st February 2016, are reported to have suffered symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea on board the ship.
One passenger commented on the Royal Caribbean Blog: âMyself and my son did get this virus and our family were quarantined to our room for 3 days.
âI had to take my son to a medical centre on board while he was vomiting because they didn’t come to the cabin to see ill passengers (makes no wonder it spread so fast).â
Anne Thomson, Head of Travel Law at Your Holiday Claims, commented: âUnfortunately outbreaks of illness are an increasingly common occurrence on cruise ships and at Your Holiday Claims we have assisted numerous British travellers after their once in a lifetime cruises were ruined by illness.
âAt Your Holiday Claims, we are currently appealing for those affected on board the Anthem of the Seas cruise ship to come forward and seek expert legal advice as they may be entitled to make a claim.â
